How many more years before St Kilda win another flag?

via St Kilda Saints Super Site by admin on 3/11/10

Everyone got carried away because they won the pre-season NAB Cup! Haaaa……One knows that if you win that one – you don’t win the big one.

Even Carlton won a NAB Cup recently – that shows how easy they are to win. They are won by the teams sporting their strongest sides. Only Adelaide & the Saints did that this year.

Now the team is top heavy with tall forwards, old players & midfielders running around picking up easy stats – without being damaging or beneficial to their side.

Well I don’t know the exact answer to your question but all of your comments are spot on re St.Kilda. I do know it won’t be this year – not by a long shot!!! (even a long shot by Nick doesn’t often go through the big sticks!!!). They seem a bit sluggish to me and seem to run out of gas. I feel that with the talent they’ve had in that team over the last few years they have almost missed that window of opportunity for a fair dinkum run at the Premiership in September but you never know and this weekend has thrown up some "very interesting" results all round (like Carlton and Richmond etc) St.Kilda get to play lots of games at the Dome and they should just about be masters of their Domain by now but they are not. Robert Walls reckons they will emerge this year and be in the finals but he doesn’t know what he is talking about. They won their last Premiership in 1966 and I am stabbing a guess at let us say 2,066!!! (Well that might be a tad pessimistic??). I also hate to say this but I think they should retire Harvey and I have my doubts re Gehrig and Milne.

wanting to join a women’s footy club in geelong?

via Geelong Cats Super Site by admin on 3/11/10

does anyone know how i could join the victoria womens football league in geelong. i think the team in the she devils they play at corio in geelong does anyone have a contact number for the team

I read an article, ‘Geelong Addy’, I think last year with "Ladies team" training at East Geelong F.C. YOU could try contacting that Club , or The GDFL (Gee. Dist League) or the sports desk at the ADDY. There is also acompany who supply gear to most Clubs called"promote IT " in Newcombe , they may have contacts as well . Best of luck hope this helps , and YOU get a KICK out of it !!!

AFL: will sean rusling return in the finals if collingwood make it or is he …

via Collingwood Magpies by admin on 3/11/10

i love his football and jsut asked this
last year it said season as well but came back in round 20 or something

I love his footy too!

I don’t think he would have enough time to recover, and gain some match experience before finals. I’d like to see him there, but I don’t want him to rush his recovery and re-injure himself. Collingwood will bring in either Dawes or McAffer by the end of the season I think, because we need some more talls in the team.

Hope this answers your question :)

Should the Adelaide Crows & Port Power merge?

via Adelaide Crows Super Site by admin on 3/11/10

Both clubs are now non performers on & off the field. It makes sense for them to merge. With their combined playing squads they should be able to manage around 12 to 1`5 on the ladder. Your views.

No. Port want to merge with the Crows just so they can play under the Crows new logo. Let them design a new one for themselves. Port could have something marine like —- such as a jelly fish.

where do i play football in sydney????????

via Sydney Swans Super Site by admin on 5/03/10

plzzzzzz helpi am not very much familiar to sydney ,i am a die hard football lover bud don know much people .pleaseeeeee tell me sum place, club or sumthin where i can meet new people and improve my game.

Some of the leagues have already started last week. Registrations might be closed for this season.
visit balmainrovers.com and check the links to have an idea
Another way is to go to a pitch close to where you live on the weekend, watch a couple of games and if you think they are your level ask them if they need someone.

A dilemma about loyalty to AFL football teams…?

via Collingwood Magpies by admin on 5/03/10

I’ve never really followed football until recently (I’m 26). When I was a kid (about 10) I kind of half-heartedly barracked for collingwood, mostly because a couple of my friends did. Years passed where I never cared much about footy, but I really got to dislike collingwood, I dont know why.

Now I’m into footy and I feel like barracking for someone, and Richmond has been my favourite team for a while. I want to barrack for Richmond officially but its such a crime to swap teams, so I feel a bit dirty. Is it OK for me to be a Richmond supporter now that I follow footy seriously for the first time in my life, and I only really followed Collingwood because of peer pressure?

Go for who you want. I’ve supported the swans for my whole life (I’m 23, born in Sydney and then lived in melbourne where every kid has to have a team) and I always get accused of being a ‘bandwagon’ supporter when I mention that. Don’t let others get in your way of enjoying the game.
